Arriving Passengers:
- All passengers are required to pass through passport control upon arrival in Georgia.
- Citizens of EU member states can enter Georgia with a travel document or an ID card issued by an EU member state. The ID card must contain the traveler's name, surname, date of birth, and photograph.
- Foreign nationals with a short-term visa can stay in Georgia for 90 days within any 180-day period. A long-term Georgian visa is issued for 90 days and serves as a prerequisite for obtaining a residence permit.
Citizens and stateless persons residing in the countries listed below can enter and stay in Georgia without a visa for up to 1 year:

The visa requirements for Georgia do not apply
- To compatriots living abroad who are citizens of countries that require a visa to enter Georgia, they are eligible to cross the Georgian border without a visa and stay in Georgia for no more than 30 days.
- For foreign nationals who hold travel documents (Laissez-Passer) issued by the United Nations or its subordinate organizations, they can enter and stay on the territory of Georgia without a visa for a full year.
- For foreigners holding a Georgian residency permit, temporary residence permit for internally displaced persons, or humanitarian status, they may stay for the full validity period of the corresponding documents.
- Foreign nationals holding a valid visa or/and residence permit of one of the countries listed below can enter Georgia and stay for up to 90 calendar days within any 180-day period:
For visa-free entry and stay in Georgia, the visa or/and residence permit of the respective country must be valid on the date of entry (crossing the border) to Georgia, which should be confirmed by a travel or other relevant document.

Departing passengers
Georgian citizen
- A person temporarily leaving Georgia and returning to Georgia with a Georgian passport, return certificate, or other travel documents, and in the case of a visa regime, should additionally have a visa of the destination country.
- A child under 16 years old, or a legally incapable person, temporarily leaves Georgia with a Georgian passport and accompanied by a legal representative (the legal representation must be confirmed by a birth certificate or its replacement document) or with the permission of one of the legal representatives and accompanied by an adult capable person. A minor between the ages of 16 and 18, if not in a registered marriage, temporarily leaves Georgia with a Georgian passport and with a notarized permission of one of the legal representatives.
Foreign national
- A foreign national minor (according to the respective country's legislation) crosses the state border with a passport or birth certificate and based on being registered (with a photo) in the accompanying persons’ documents. A foreign national traveling from Georgia to another country must cross the state border with the documents used to enter Georgia.
- A foreign national who, during inspection at a border checkpoint, is denied permission to enter the territory of Georgia, is subject to return.
